Help for flood victims in North Rhine-Westphalia

Heavy flooding has left a trail of destruction in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. At least 170 people died in the floods. In many places, the infrastructure has completely collapsed.

The flood disaster in west of Germany has also triggered agreat deal of helpfulness among the people here in the region. It is a sign of solidarity. Quick and unbureaucratic helf or those affected by the floods came from Upper Franconia.

Farmers, companies and forwarding agents organised the transport of hay and straw to NRW. Initiated by Mr. Meixner in Leutenbach near Forchheim.

And so, on Friday afternoon, a convoy of 37 trucks, including three semi-trailers from Steinbach Spedition, set off from Forchheim on the way to Kerpen.

In the middle of the night, the animal feed convoy (37 trucks and  supply vehicles) arrived in North Rhine-Westphalia. Each truck was loaded with about 40 bales of hay or straw.

Thanks to generous support of farmers from Upper Franconia, who donated bales of hay and straw, and the volunteer drivers, this action was only possible.

Many thanks to our drivers Mihai, Nicu, Benjamin, Erhos, Ralf with wife

for their sensational mission.

25.05.2021 Solar Power for around 300 households

Solar power for around 300 households

SOLAR POWER

Spedition Steinbach installs two large photovoltaic systems in Bayreuth and at the Ismaning site.

Green electricity for a good 300 households – at least in purely mathematical terms, the photovoltaic systems that Spedition Steinbach will soon be putting into operation on the hall roofs in Bayreuth and at the Ismaning site will be sufficient for this.

A Small photovoltaic system has already been in place on one of Steinbach Spedition’s roofs since 2011, but the PV system that has now been additionally installed has a completely different dimension – it is around ten times as powerful. 750 kWp is the corresponding nominal figure. It can generate about 750.000 kWh hours of electricity per year. This is made possible by about 2200 solar modules that cover three more large hall roofs of Steinbach Spedition in Aichig. At the Ismaning site, near Munich, a PV system of almost the same size was also installed. The project partner is the Nuremberg-based company Greenovative. About a year had passed from the initial planning to the commissioning in the coming weeks. The investment sum is in seven figures. The PV system will pay for itself in about 20 years. Above all, Frank Steinbach wants to contribute to the fight against climate change. That is why electric charging stations have been installed on the company’s premises in Bayreuth and electric cars have been purchased.

However, Steinbach Spedition does not need as much electricity as the system produces. The company’s own demand is calculated at around twelve per cent. The Company does not plan to have its own storage capacity, which is why some electricity will be taken from the general grid at night. Above all, however, energy will be fed into the grid, which is why a large truck-mounted crane was used yesterday to hover a new transformer onto the company’s premises. Once it is connected, the green electricity can begin.

Jewel in bronze

Jewel in bronze – show truck

Since 04.04.2019, Steinbach carrier from Bayreuth has a new show truck on the road. The new jumbo train impresses with its bronze – coloured driver’s cab and a truck-mounted forklift of the same colour, as well as an extravagant tarpaulin design. All factory with body panels were painted bronze, as were the mirror brackets, sun visor and grille. The silver-cloured lamp brackets make the DAF XF FAR LD a real eye-catcher.

Outstanding comfort thanks to leather upholstery. The DAF interior is the most spacious of its kind, offering the best and widest sleeping berths, optimum seating comfort, generous built-in wardrobe and scores with its complete new visually appealing layout – every driver’s dream.

Our First Show Truck Goes on Tour

Our First Show Truck Goes on Tour

“Big 5”, Steinbach Spedition’s first show truck, was dedicated on May 5, 2017 at the company site in Bayreuth and now cruises the roads of Europe.

Even before the vehicle – a DAF XF510 Super Space Cab – was ordered, special attention was paid to unique features like skylights, LED headlamps, a roof spoiler and fenders, cab-colored mirrors, signal horns, special shades and spotlights. The driver’s cab is especially comfortable because it has a cabinet instead of an upper bunk.

A precise concept was required for the project.  But the time frame was tight: Only a few weeks were available for the job. The idea to get a show truck didn’t come until November 2016. The first meeting with the artist took place on January 11, 2017. After a few more talks, we received the first drafts for our airbrush project two weeks later. The goal was to paint both sides differently and to give the truck a “face” from the front. The draft designs for the trailer followed. Our motor vehicle mechatronics technicians disassembled the vehicle into many pieces before the paint and brush work began. The project started on March 3, 2017. Artist Jörg Wolke airbrushed through the weekends. Then the paint shop technicians coated the vehicle with multiple layers to give it a shiny finish. The cab was finished on April 3, 2017.

The truck will be on display at the Trucker Festival in Friedenfels May 12-14, 2017 to benefit children with cancer in the Upper Palatinate North region. The event will feature airbrushed show trucks, a trading area, a “bear cave” for adults, face-painting for kids, line dancing with the Flyingboots, and more. Steinbach Spedition is also supporting the Kinderkrebshilfe project with a donation.
