Logistics is a great field, especially for the new generation of workers. Logistics is a future-oriented industry that demands an increasing level of understanding of links to other sectors. For this reason the apprenticeship training programs are not limited to logistics, planning and transport management but also cover language training, communication skills and economics.
Our goal is to offer 100% of our apprentices a position after they complete their training. We want to develop their talents so that they can help shape the company in significant ways.
Apprenticeships
Office Management Clerk (m/w/d)
Duration of training: 3 years
Office Management Clerks organize and take care of office management-related tasks. Other responsibilities include commercial activities in the area of order processing, procurement, accounting, marketing and HR management.
They plan, coordinate and monitor deadlines, look through incoming mail, examine incoming invoices and clarify differences. They are also responsible for writing invoices, checking incoming and outgoing payments and sending reminders for late payments.
You will need good spelling skills and a good understanding of numbers for your day-to-day work and be able to filter out and use important data for the respective purpose. Solid computer skills (standard software such as word processing and spreadsheet programs) – also in company-specific applications – are required.
Requirement: Completion of secondary education (“mittlere Reife” school leaving certificate)
Professional Driver (m/w/d)
Duration of training: 3 years
Professional drivers haul freight. You transport goods using all kinds of different trucks. You start with solo vehicles and gradually begin to drive vehicles with heavier payloads over the course of your training. You become acquainted with legal and operational requirements, maintain freight and log books, accept cargo and examine the freight documents. You ensure best possible use of the transport space and properly secure the load. As a professional driver you are responsible for your vehicle and your freight; you have a good understanding of vehicle mechanics (engine systems) and technologies.
Steinbach Spedition offers practical training. Apprentices are optimally prepared for their wide variety of tasks as a professional driver.
Requirement: Completion of secondary education (“Qualifizierter Hauptschulabschluss” school leaving certificate), driver’s license class B
2 + 2 Warehouse specialist + professional Driver (m/w/d)
Duration of training: 4 years
Apprenticeship as a warehouse specialist (m/w/d) 2 years
A warehouse clerk is employed wherever goods are stored and their precise delivery and proper storage must be organized.
As a warehouse clerk, you will receive and check goods, label them and transport them to the designated location. You will also sort googs, pick and pack them.
Training as a professional driver (m/w/d) 2 years
As a professional driver you will work in freight transportation and transport goods with trucks of all kinds.
Starting with solo vehicles, the playload of the vehicles will increase in the course of your training. You will learn about legal and operational regulations, keep freight and control books, take over the transported goods and check the freight documents. You will ensure the best possible utilization of the transport space and the proper securing of the load. As a professional driver you are responsible for your vehicle and your freight; you are familiar with the engine and technology.
You will start with training as a warehouse specialist and after two years you will begin training as a professional driver.
Steinbach Spedition offers practice-oriented training. The trainees are optimally prepared for the comprehensive activities.
Prerequisite: Qualified secondary school leaving certificate or secondary school leaving certificate.

Freight Forwarding and Logistics Services Clerk (m/w/d)
Duration of training: 3 years
Freight Forwarding and Logistics Services Clerks are responsible for national and international freight transport.
You dispatch vehicles, develop schedules and take care of formalities. You advise customers on our range of services, rates and possible transport solutions, create offers, prepare contracts and ensure proper insurance coverage. You calculate prices, help determine earnings and costs, handle payment transactions and take care of dunning procedures. You are also the contact person for customer complaints and claims.
A Freight Forwarding and Logistics Services Clerk must know exactly which papers are needed for shipment and which provisions must be observed.
A sense of responsibility, the ability to work in a team, willingness to learn and an interest in business-related relationships are essential.
Requirement: Completion of secondary education (“mittlere Reife” school leaving certificate)
IT Specialist (m/w/d)
Duration of training: 3 years
IT Specialists with a focus on System Integration implement customer-specific information and communication solutions. The field encompasses everything from the planning, installation and maintenance of systems and computer networks to application and database development. However, topics such as security (firewalls, encryption, etc.) are also gaining importance.
Requirement: Completion of secondary education (“mittlere Reife” school leaving certificate)
Vocational training to become an IT Specialist may also be completed as part of a “dual-track studies program” at the University of Applied Sciences.
Warehouse Clerk | Warehouse Logistics Specialist (m/w/d)
Duration of training: 2 years/3 years
A Warehouse Clerk is active wherever goods are stored that require compliant organization of their delivery and storage.
As a Warehouse Clerk, you receive and inspect goods, label them and move them to the designated location. You also sort, pick and pack goods.
Warehouse Clerks must complete various tasks that require a great sense of responsibility and excellent organizational skills.
After completing the two-year training program to become a Warehouse Clerk there is an opportunity to continue the apprenticeship a third year to become a Warehouse Logistics Specialist. Warehouse Logistics Specialists additionally plan trips, compare offers and organize the unloading of goods.
A Warehouse Logistics Specialist manages and controls all warehouse-related processes.
Requirement: Completion of secondary education (“Qualifizierter Hauptschulabschluss” school leaving certificate)
Vehicle Mechatronics Technician with a focus on Commercial Vehicles (m/w/d)
Duration of training: 3.5 years
Vehicle Mechatronics Technicians with a focus on Commercial Vehicles service vehicles for the transport of goods, make repairs and install special equipment. Today’s trucks have complex mechatronic systems such as braking and steering assistance, automatic transmission control and exhaust treatment systems, so Vehicle Mechatronics Technicians with a focus on Commercial Vehicles must be trained not only in “classic” mechanical but also electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
You analyze electrical, electronic and mechanical systems, troubleshoot errors and eliminate their cause. You use special truck lifts, diagnostics stations, engine performance tests, brake test benches, wheel alignment equipment and other tools. After making repairs or doing conversion work, you inspect vehicle functions and subsystems to ensure their compliance with traffic regulations.
