Health Awareness Day: Free Vein Function Screening for Employees
The health of our employees is important to us, which is why we partnered with our health insurance provider to offer a vein function screening at the company.
The goal of the Health Awareness Day was to detect potential vein problems early on and to raise awareness of prevention and preventive health care in the workplace.
Venous disease often develops unnoticed over the course of years. Typical symptoms are frequently not recognized immediately. Risk factors include, among others, advanced age, obesity, and lack of physical activity. As part of the health day, the DAK conducted a light reflex rheography. This modern screening method measures the movement-dependent emptying and filling of the leg veins. This allows conclusions to be drawn about the function of the venous valves. At the same time, the examination provides insight into how effectively venous blood is transported from the legs toward the heart by the body’s own muscle pump. For the measurement, small sensors were attached to the inner sides of the participants’ calves. The examination was performed directly on the skin and was completed within a few minutes. The results were evaluated immediately on-site.

Numerous employees took the opportunity to have their veins checked by a specialist in workplace health management and to receive advice on prevention vein issues and promoting blood circulation.
With these offerings, we aim to actively contribute to health promotion and provide our employees with added value.
Many thanks to the DAK team.
